I. P. C. 637 Omer Bux present.
Shewn account slip for the 11th moon 14th day containing the entry "Payment of arrears 657 $1 Ngau".
Mak Cheung states:- I was employed as a watchman for the gasoling house at No.2 Wa Lane. I was employed by San Yin. I was employed for 2 or 3 years as watchman by Sam Yin.
Besides acting as watchman I had to pay money to the Indian Constables on the beats in the vicinity. During the time that I was on duty watching, I watched 8 hours a day in the 24.
I recognise the I. P. C. present. He is an Indian Constable. I do not know his number or his name. I have seen him on duty near the gasoling house. He drove the people away. He drove away the watchmen & people who were visiting the gasoling house. I have paid him money for several years. I cannot remember when I began. I paid him last year.
I remember paying him in the 11th moon of last year. I cannot remember the date. I have also paid him this year. I paid him 75 cents for the Wa Lane House & 75 cents for the Cheung Hing Street House, that is $1.50 a day when he was on duty. When he was not on duty nothing was paid to him.
